I champion the responsible development of the oil sands!
And to assure Albertans that it is being done responsibly, and to demonstrate this to the world, we are going to create a World Center for Environmental Remediation and Restoration, based in Fort McMurray.
The World Center will track and monitor the environmental remediation and restoration being done at the oil sands; and, compare that to what is being done elsewhere in the world. |
I support the long term viability of the food industry
Note to most City people ─ the food industry is agriculture, and it is mostly in rural Alberta.
The food industry was here long before, and will be here long after, the oil and gas industry is gone. Think about that the next time you and the kids have a hamburger at McDonalds or are having lunch at the Petroleum Club in downtown Calgary or Edmonton!

I work for current and future Seniors
Note to everyone: you're either one or the other!
The big issue right now is the long term care of our mature adults who need more care than can be given at home, but are not acute enough for hospitalization. |

| My Mission in the Senate | ||
Restoring Canada's Good Name Making lemonade from lemons
I, we, are going to create a World Centre for Environmental Remediation and Restoration. The Centre, based in Fort McMurray, will lead and monitor the environmental remediation and restoration of the oil sands.
As an independent and credible authority, it will prove to the citizens of Alberta and the world that oil sands development can be done responsibly. It will develop expertize and technology that can be exported to other parts of the world.
We are going to make Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada ─ the world centre of expertise for environmental remediation and restoration. |
Modernizing Government From horse and buggy government to space age democracy
Electing Senators is the most important change in Canadian Parliamentary history. It does what the fathers of Confederation intended - that the Senate would be a regional counter weight to the heavy concentration of votes from central Canada in the House of Commons.
Here are the first things I would do as an Idependent Senator for Alberta:
|
Showing Gratitude to Seniors For creating a great country
Seniors need an ombudsman, to advocate for them and to monitor the area where social services and individual needs meet, or do not meet.
I'd like to eastablish a Senator's Office for a Senior's Ombudsman in Alberta, with a view to expanding across Canada.
